Jewbacca Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Agreed, this was a team effort. Intent was clear. We can however say that there is little doubt that the rider is a machine and will win races on his own too.Absolutely. With the cycling Zeitgeist, we may see some of these kids winning races(hopefully fairly) pretty soon too! The women's race was awesome yesterday. Showed that the old guard still has something to offer in world cycling! AVV is 36 or something, so at least one World Champ is in the 'over 30' club!
Vetplant Posted September 29, 2019 Author Posted September 29, 2019 Sooo...what is on the cards for today? Do we expect things to rip apart quite early on like with the ladies yesterday? One of the under 25s to take it?

'Dale Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 It's gonna be a wet one. Reminds me of the year when Costa won and Rodriquez wept. #wheelspray
'Dale Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 "I miss the rainbow jersey... It would be something special, but I'm not thinking about that. There's no pressure. I'm confident but, you know, anything can happen in the race." Sagz Baby
Dirt Tracker Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 It's gonna be a wet one. Reminds me of the year when Costa won and Rodriquez wept. #wheelspray I'm surprised he glasses didn't have wipers built in for all that wheel sucking.
emme Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Race shortened to 260km due to conditions.Start now at 10h00 with race proper at 10h20..
T-Bob Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Race shortened to 260km due to conditions.Start now at 10h00 with race proper at 10h20.. Don't they have the longest neutralised section in a World Champs? It's like 18km of soft peddling to warm up into a mammoth day in the saddle. Want to see some one solo this today after 40kms!
emme Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Amended route has 10,5 km neutral zone.Racing distance is just over 260km.
Patchelicious Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Is the race on Sky Eurosport?BBC Red button
T-Bob Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 BBC Red button Channel 5 I think as well but it's off and running on DSTV now. KM0 delayed for Marc Solar to get back after a puncture. Everyone looks frisky. And Dan Martin decided to go for a long one!
T-Bob Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Seems the new / amended route has taken 2 of the climbs out. Bit of a shame.
