I am still amazed at how the stars aligned yesterday for Sagan.

Having the world TT champion in the break with you to stay away from a chasing FDJ was exactly what Sagan could have hoped for, along with a bunch of breakaway riders who committed to staying away.

No matter how good you are or how good your team, you sometimes need the dice to fall in your favour to have a chance.

Speaking of the world ITT champ, he said in an interview that he lost a few years when he decided to go with Sagan.. I had to laugh at a few moments during the stage, they shared a lot of laughs while suffering together esp after FDJ gave up the fight.

Maybe its just me. Yesterday I missed the whole day and ol Sagz wins everything. Today I see business as usual at the sprint points....

Please stop watching all stages where Sagan could win..thank you in advance.. pls turn the TV off, sommer right now[emoji6]

PS yesterday was one hell of a stage..you should watch it from start to finish.

Ag shite I was really hoping Gaviria would get the win..

Quite happy with Sagan there had to dodge a few riders there.. he had a very long hard day yesterday ..that's a good results as Demare is just too quick.

Michael Matthews false positive... 9b4270c2f1cf9d0ce515d2bace234299.jpg

They are still waiting for the other test to confirm the negative.. Flamme Rouge posted about it earlier

Negative RT-PCR (+-80% reliable) test for Matthews. PCR still tbc. #Giro

Rated at 4 Stars, today's stage is anticipated to be a tough one by the organisers.(Only stage 17, 18 and 20 have higher ratings)

With Cat 4 and Cat 3 climbs littered throughout, this isn't tough enough for the GC hopefulls to isolate each other.

But it is also too tough for the sprinters teams to control.

So that can only mean one thing:

Breakaway stage, custom made for De Gendt...? Sagan will most likely try to latch onto the break to pick up some points over Demare. With the form he is in, I wouldn't bet against Sagan sticking with De Gendt for a fairly large part of the stage.

The first hour will most likely be super-hard as every team will want to have representation up the road.
