Hey,

Does anyone have experience with changing a hub on a bike wheel? I want to change a hub on a wheel but the PCD (spoke hole diameter) is slightly different to the current hub. I want to know, does the PCD have to be EXACTLY the same, or can there be slight difference...NOT a radially fitted spoke but 1-cross pattern lacing.

Thanks!

I am assuming that your question is aimed at reusing the current spokes.  The answer is to measure the new hub dimensions (not only the PCD because the flange positions can also vary) as well as the ERD of the rim and re calculate the spoke length. Then compare to the existing spokes.  If you intend to reuse spokes then when you dismantle the wheel keep the drive and non drive spokes apart and also mark the inbound and outbound spokes on each side so that they can be refitted in the same way.
