GX/NX 12 Speed on Hope Pro 2 Evo hubs

Will this work? I'm new to 12spd (still running 9) and I'm considering upgrading.

 

No point doing this if I need new hubs or freehub. 

 

Looking at either a NX or GX cassette.

NX will fit, GX you'll need an XD driver. Easy enough to get hold of, and around R 1 500.

I'm running the same set up and it wasn't event an issue (in fact that is why I bought the NX set up). Been about a year and a half with not an issue.

Did you do the BB and cranks too? 

 

I'm not sure how backwards compatible the new cranks and BBs are to the old threaded shells. Frame dates back to 2010.

Me three. I have a dislike for Proprietary parts, so when my NX cassette is done, I'll go with Sunrace, as I'm not going XD or microspline on my Pro 2's and Evo's. When 13 speed is launched, I might change my mind, but I doubt it.

I got the whole groupo' with 165 cranks and the Dub BB off CRC when you could nip around the geolocation issue. That went onto a 2019 Ripmo and the only stuff up was on my side not understanding the difference between boost and non boost cranks. I ended up buying a new 'boost' crankset for very little reason and promptly selling it on.
