Greetings good people

I’ve recently started mountain biking and bought a medium frame Mongoose Otero that has 26 inch wheels.

I was wondering if it would be possible to upgrade the wheel size and put 29 inch wheels. If possible, would I need to replace the front fork? And are there any other considerations to take note off...

Also, where you would be a good, honest, reliable and not too costly place to have my bike serviced?

Many thanks ????

Well with a new fork it would be possible on the front but you going a mullet bike of note.

A 29” wheel is considerably bigger than a 26”, maybe you’ll get the rim in the back, probably not, but not with a tyre on it.

Some frame do cater for 2 wheel sizes, so check the spec for it, maybe it will take a 27.5.

As for where to fix your bike, that’s going to need some extra info, you’ve pretty much given the known universe as your location, however logic dictates South Africa but that still like what, 2000km... lol

I’m aware of cycle lab, westdene cycles as well as Solomons but I’d like to get some suggestions on where is a professional, trustworthy, reliable and like I said, not too costly place to have my bike serviced...
