Dropper post twisting play

Hi guys, I just bought a ks lev ci dropper from a hubber. No complaints at all except the twisting play. Is this normal? There feels like quite a lot...

 

Please can you give me any info or any advice on how I can fix it.

Hi,

 

It has key slots where some brass/copper keys seem to slide in. so could be keys slightly worn or the other way around.

All droppers have a little play some less than other but have not seen 1 where the seat does not move a little when no weight is on it.

Yes apparently it's the brass bushings. Any idea where I can source some?

How much play?

 

My KS Lev that I sold was about 7 years old and the play was minimal. The tip of the saddle moved max 5mm side-to-side.

 

As long as you don’t have forward and backward play it should be fine.

It seems excessive to me. I can't imagine how to measure the play. There's no forward or back, and no up and down, just twisting from side to side. Apparently it's the lower brass keys/bushings that could be worn, but sourcing them in SA is a mission/impossible.

EBay is your best bet, but what you order and what you get may be very different.

 

Get some wiper seals while you're about it, if you can.
