GPS

I am about to start cycling in Knysna and don't want to get lost. Also need to know where the trails are!

So I am looking for a cycling GPS that has mapping, and one on-which I can install maps

Not interested in measuring heart, cadence etc

Simple unit that tells me where I am and where to go

Thanks in advance

Thanks Guys

Am I correct in my thinking that the units need to be connected to a smartphone for mapping?

No off-line mapping?

I want off-line mapping

The Lezyne offers offline maps, is cheap/affordable and will do exactly what you need.

Note that maps are road maps, not trails.

But you can load rides for the trails using Komoot, either from scratch or by using someone else’s gpx file.

You select the area you wish to ride in, then download the map to your device.

To start a route using the maps, you need a smartphone - but thereafter it works offline.

Cell phone ? It does what you want with probably the clearest of maps available. Trailforks app also gives you all the trails.
