Hey guys - I'm currently looking at getting myself a titan cypher, carbon, and the 2021 comp seems to be the way to go. At 49.5k from bikehub, it's sitting perfectly in my price range. My aim is to use this bike over the next few years for Freedom Challenge, Munga, Trans Baviaans etc, big, long races.

However, I wanted to find out what it weighs, and I've had no luck with this online - anyone here with experience with this bike specifically? It's the black, grey and orange one with the Marzocchi fork.

My other option was the 2021 Canyon Lux CF 6 - a little less travel, and a bit more cash (54.5k) but it's sitting at a very attractive 12.11 kgs as listed on the site. Thoughts?

Thanks!

I own the Titan Cypher RS... It is awesome.

It isn't super light, but the plusses would outweigh the negatives for me.

It's a super fantastic all round bike. I'm a huge fan.

Carrying mine up Lehanas Pass, Die Leer and out of Statyns wouldn't be great as it's a bit 'trail chunky' compared to the last bike I hiked around there, but probably better than some I've seen.

If you are planning on doing all those races over the next few years, enjoy! Freedom is the greatest bike race in SA and in the top 5 in the world. With the Fishers having fixed the maps and narrative I can only imagine how much less stressful it is to the non navigators (I'm a pre Fisher blanket wearer).

Once you've done that, trans Baviaans will become a training ride

I have the Cypher Comp, the orange and black one that you are looking at. Bought it to ride the Freedom Circuit in April. Absolutely loving riding it.

It weighed just on 12kg out the box but added slime, peddles and a bottle cage so will be slightly more now. I’ll weigh it again tomorrow and let you know.

I’m a lady and can comfortably lift it over gates and for portaging.
