I think the urgency in the peleton is caused by Almeida's presence in the break.

Almeida is with Nibali group at the front of the race.. The chase group are at 43sec and the Peloton is now at 4min down.

5 minutes is the current gap.

Those time gaps keep jumping around. Might need to take it with a pinch of salt.

Only 69kms left to the top of the final climb. Then they descend 17km to the finish line... unless they neutralise the descend, the times may be taken at the top of that climb.
