Are xtr wheelsets really worth the 155g saving and the R2500 + xtra price ticket over the new xt wheelset ?

You shouldn't be asking us this question. You should be asking yourself....can I afford the XTR...?

 

It's not about whether it's worth the price difference but rather about whether you can afford the price difference.

 

Always buy the most expensive part possible. Screw the budget!

Come to think of it, the XT's also have red nipples. Hmm, his seems to be a recuring trend.

THe mojor difference is the titanium body freehub, axles and the scandium aluminium alloy rim, and the decals of course.

 

 

 

XT is excellent value. Ihave the XTR and rate the design highly. It's easily serviced, the wheel is stiff and can take a beating(9days, 966km yada yada yada..)

 

The weight is also competitive with the lightest wheelsets and they come with skewers that actually work.
