Hi guys

 

Im new to the MTB world and ive been looking a while for the right bike and I've came across a Mongoose MTB its a'2017 29er M' currently been sold on bike hub for around 5k

 

It would mainly used for some light trail rides and some gravel roads and the odd bush trails

YES !!

 

At that price range it is an excellent purchase.

 

 

That said, please check:

 

- fit and size (many generic only tables of rider height vs bike size ... take care if you are on the overlap between sizes ... )

 

- Condition of the fork, there should be NO scratches on the stanchions

 

Walk away if these two items are wrong.

 

 

Next look at the condition of the chain and gears ... but these are easily replaceble, no more than something to consider for negotiating a discount.

There is nothing wrong with Mongoose, they have some good products.

 

It is difficult to say if its a good buy or not, because, as with any brand, they have pretty entry level products and they have top of the range products.
