2nd hand thru axle advice needed

Newster

Recommended Posts

Evening all, I want to find a 2nd hand through axle in the classifieds to replace the one in the photos but I'm scared of buying the wrong size (complete cycling noob).

Can someone point me in the right direction and also let me know what to look out for/ask the seller about?  Chances are I'll have to buy it remotely.

I'm currently selling the one below

If you’re confident it’ll work you can buy it for half the price listed and if it doesnt work i’ll refund you

but if it does you can just pay the other half

Sounds very reasonable, just to confirm I pay 50% deposit and you'll send it to me (courier at my cost).  If it works I pay the balance, if it doesn't I send it back (courier at my cost) and you refund my deposit?

Yes, if you are fine with that we can do it :)

100%, could you just measure it's length and diameter for me?  Hoping the threads match cos they're both Fox forks

Evo bikes should have if you don’t come right.

also to check the pitch if you don’t have the little pitch checkers you can try (don’t force ) thread a nut on it.

standard thread is 1.75 normally and I found the axles I was after where 1.5 pitch.

I actually made an axel ( it was during the heat of the no parts situation and I had to ride ).

I’d say the diameter is 15mm and the length 15cmE0835C3F-F336-459A-9FFC-A910550B8431.jpeg.b16acc41ee0b71762f6dba527b5bff47.jpeg

I'd say the length is closer to 15.5cm. 10mm longer than mine.  Not sure it's going to work ????‍♀️.  Diameter looks spot on though

Well, just take a clear pic of the detail printed on the axle maybe?

Then anyone can compare. From what I can see, your axle is for a 110mm x15mm hub axle with a M14x1.5mm Thread and for a Fox. The 110 would suggest Boost fork. Otherwise google the Part Number - 620-09-063? its 820-09-063

Edit: I see his part number on his axle is 820-00-203, so not sure its compatible.

Since its A F0X axle im assuming its off a fox fork.

Post the tune id here and I'll tell you exactly what axle you need

The decals on the fork say that it's a fox float 32.  What is a tune id?

The hub on the wheel is a Hope Evo Pro 2 if that makes any difference

Ernst, thank you very much for your generous offer.  I'm going to hold back for a while until I'm sure that it will work rather than waste R200 on unnecessary courier fees.  If another buyer comes along before then feel free to sell  to them

No problem! Thanks for letting me know, if you don’t come right and need the one I’m selling my offer is still up
