MTB to Gravel Bike

Hi All

I enjoy Mountain Biking, but would like to do some bike touring.
Most of the youtube videos and channels I follow the guys have gravel bikes.

Has anybody converted their MTB to a hybrid MTB / Gravel Bike ?

Jaco basically it boils down to :

 

- Where are you going to ride\tour ?  700C50 for bad roads, 700C30 for less rolling resistance ....  Everytime I start thinking the rolling resistance of the C50 on my converted hardtail MTB is too high I ride a section of bad road and am quickly reminded of the benefits of a larger volume tire.

 

- Fitting touring racks / bags to the bike .... dedicated touring bikes obviously have more lugs for fitting racks, but when you start searching the Hub you will find MANY solutions for "standard" frames.

 

- Handle bars - Whatever you do, just dont call it a gravel bike if you still use flat bars ....    MANY threads on this topic as well .... use what works for you   I tried the drop bars, ENJOYING my flat bars.
