Shebeen Posted January 19, 2022 Share okee dokee, so I know Sanbona was in the process of deproclaiming roads to make all their sections of land contiguous. It was possible to ride through, but required some admin - and for cyclists an escort from the park. I'm toying with the idea for a trip, so looking for any people who have done it in the last 3/4 years, if possible before contacting park management. some possibly outdated info as the reserve has changed hands since then. https://www.mountainpassessouthafrica.co.za/news/item/544-latest-news-27th-march,-2014.html this thread has aged well, admin make the pics work dammit! Skubarra Posted January 19, 2022 Share Would it not be quicker to just pick up the phone and make the call rather than starting a thread on bikehub? 😂 But my 2c, we camped at Warmwaterberg last year and I rode the district road from Warmwaterberg up unto the gate. At that time it was locked with no public access. Also doing a bit of strava spying on the rides being done there no-one went past the gate in the last few years. pietas Posted January 19, 2022 Share We did it Sept 2020. They allowed it but we had to have the escort. The whole group had to ride together and it took quite a while for the escort to arrive. We also had a following vehicle that acted as the second vehicle. The staff were friendly and we did see some elephants on the way. So I understand their reasoning behind it.
