Entry level Giant and Liv prices

My Parent's neighbor in their retirement estate is cleaning out their garage due to her husbands unfortunate illness and she is wanting to sell her Husband's Giant Revel 1 and her Liv as well as a Thule rack.  Someone in the Estate told her each bike was worth R4000 and the rack must go with the bikes for free.  My mom asked my opinion, and I thought that was a bit of a cheeky offer so I thought I might get some opinions here from those that know (I'm a bit short on entry level bike prices).  From the pics they don't look used at all and in really clean condition, but they are obviously very entry level.

 

Any comments?

Having recently serviced a couple of similar bikes ....

 

Those tires are most probably going to be replaced.

 

Chains may have a couple of stiff links ....

 

Gear cables probably sticky ....

 

On one bike the ghries had DRIED completely .... ALL bearings had to be opened, properly washed out, etc ....

 

 

So it may well be a bit of work and few rands in spares to get the bikes in good shape.  BUT, then these are worth a good few rand each ..... depending on sellers or re-sellers anything from R5k to R10k per bike.

 

 

The Thule rack .... start by advertising it for R950 .... SCARY how these prices shot up in the last few years.

 

 

 

PS - please confirm tire and frame sizes ....  (I am guessing 26'')

Thanks.  The Revel is a Medium 29 and the Liv a Small 27.5

This might be a cheap shot, but I am willing to pay R500 for the rack?
