SunRace M9 shifter compatibility with SRAM derailleur

Does anybody know if SunRace M9 (9 speed) shifters are compatible with a 9 speed SRAM rear derailleur (SRAM X5)?

This link says Shimano 9 speed Shifter will work with SRAM derailleur 9 speed, although I have not tried it. I believe Sunrace shifters are same as Shimano.

I think they are a little crazy.

Sram uses a 1:1 actuation and Shimano a 2:1

The indexing is all over the place.

SRAM 8 speed and Shimano 8 speed MTB shifters and derailleurs are compatible.

SRAM 9speed/10speed /11speed MTB shifter and Derailleurs are NOT compatible with Shimano. We need Jtech Shifter buddies to make these work.

SRAM Eagle 12speed MTB and Shimano 12 speed Mtb are Compatible.

Easy enough I reckon without the quagmire of road groups to tar the muddy waters

You can use 11 speed SRAM shifter with 11 speed Shimano Derailleur. I have used this on an MTB for many years.

yes if the rear derailleur is a X-Actuation unit with pull ratio of 1:1.2 it will work with a shimano shifter and vice versa.

If the unit is Exact Actuation with pull ratio of 1:3 it will not /should not work

Take my word for it, just don’t mix then.

The actuation and indexing is different.

You can make anything work with a plan, but you will never know how it could actually feel if you do the right thing.

 

I spend my days fixing internet misinformation and advice.

Yes, our products are compatible with Shimano and / or Sram. Our cassettes will fit onto the HyperGlide fitting (for both Shimano and Sram drive trains) or XD (for Sram drive trains). Unfortunately, we do not have any Microspline-compatible cassettes. For derailleurs and shifters the standard is Shimano-compatible, unless it has been stated clearly that the item is Sram-compatible.

 

since the shifter you posted does not state SRAM compatible , it’s not .

Thanks for the info.

I want to change an old bike's SRAM twist shifters to trigger shifters, but 9 speed SRAM trigger shifters seem scarce.

9 speed derailures are cheap.

 

Just get a matching set of triggers and derailures.
