Advice - Transport between Cape Town and Merendal

This is my first time in SA and I am looking for transportation to get to Merendal in the registration day and the prologue.

I'll be staying at Cape Town. Do you think Uber XL would be able to get me and my partner (and our bikes) both ways?

To get there, it would depend where you are staying - since Ubers aren't always available everywhere. From Meerendal back to where you are, it would likely be a challenge since Meerendal is not near any busy traffic areas. Perhaps others have tried getting Ubers around there.

The only other options would be to hire a driver for the day or hire a car.

Getting an Uber for the distance is a non-issue.  Nieces regularly use Uber from this area to Stellenbosch.

 

 

Getting an Uber large enough to carry you and the bikes .... uhm this  I am not sure off at all.

Do you need the bikes there at registration as well?

What time do you need to be at the start?

Where in CT exactly are you staying, and is it a B&B or a hotel?

Yes, I need the bikes at the registration. I was hoping to ride the Prologue course at that day to get the legs moving.

So, I would need transportation on 18th of March to Merendal and back to CT and on 19th to the Prologue. I don't know yet what time I should be at the start but I think it might be around 8 AM?

I will be staying at the Waterfront area.

What I done before is hire a taxi, get his card(phone) and call him is a good way to have something handy. I also used uber last year, but I was staying right a Lourensford much easier.

Then definitely use a taxi or charter service rather than Uber, you can book in advance and talk to an actual person.

The number Milky posted above looks like a pretty decent option, otherwise if you're staying at a hotel they should be able to organise something for you.
