Fox Gold 20wt Alternative

Fox Gold 20 is not available locally and been out of stock for months. I have checked a number of sites including Omnico. Does anyone know what else I can use instead for a lowers service. Been eyeing these options but any others that might work?

Both seem to hit the right viscosity levels but not sure if I am making a mistake by using something other than Fox Gold. It's for lowers only on fit4 dampers. So no need for the 5w teflon stuff.

Those are damper oils, not what you are looking for. I'm sure @droo will chime in and correct me if I am wrong, but Castrol Magnatec is a good substitute. The 5w40 IIRC

I read this too. Been looking but can't find it online. Do you know who stocks it?

I've Never had a problem with Motul Fork Oils.(Available in 20W (Heavy))

But I'm a bit of a McGuyver.

I will never use Motor Oils (Engine Oils) in a Fork Lowers because It Stained Stuff when I tried it.

So I Turfed It.

Engine Oils Have a Lot of additives.

Fork oil of the right viscosity will be fine, but the Silkolene that you posted is damper oil and will most likely wear your stanchions out.

0W30 or 5W30 multigrade will also do the job - the 0W30 is what Rockshox have been using for ages. The RSP stuff from RBC is made for the job, as is Motorex Supergliss if you can find it.

The closest off the shelf stuff that I've found so far is Fuchs Renolin CGLP68 slideway oil, but I've found it doesn't last as long as the Fox or multigrade so you'll need to be doing a lowers service every 50 - 75 hours.
