MvdP pulled out of the XCC to give his road rash time to heal up so he perform at his best on Saturday.

I can't see why Pidcock won't start XCC.

Alan, I'm not sure of but I can understand why he would skip XCC since XCo WC has been his focus

I have no frame of reference, but would the pros be completely rested for the XCO after the XCC? At that level of their fitness are they able to rest that quickly?

Yes. Recovery rate is so quick due to their conditioning. They would have most likely done intervals anyway.
