I have a scott spark 900 with that terrible cable routing through the headsetšŸ™ˆ
Since i bought it, it has never shifted down smoothly. Sometimes takes more than one pedal stroke and then shift hesitantly (I think its due to the cable not releasing properly due to the tight angles through the headset). I am at the point where i want to ditch the xtr to replace with sram, but was thinking maybe it is just a new cable, quality housing, proper routing and cheecking the alingment of the mech and hanger.

Has anyone experienced this issue before and what can i do to resolve it? I have replaced the cable and the bike shop checked and adjusted the hanger and mech, but still not right.Ā
Damn frustrating when you want to shift and the gears just ā€œhangā€ like and old Windows computer!

Assuming they replaced the cable and housing, and also aligned everything like you said they did, and then hopefully did their duty and took 2 seconds to make sure the indexing is right, 12 speed? - Ā check the clutch. Maybe it needs a clean and lube.

google how to. but take that little cover off and clean it/lube it.Ā

I would strongly consider a axs upgrade, vut you can get a jagwire pro dropper kitĀ

Ā

.4mm cable and tiny housing that always worked lekker for me , expensive tho

R200 is worth a try before dropping R10k minumum? Also, OP, if your xtr is mint and 12 speed iā€™ll swop you for my gx axs. I hate mine. HahašŸ˜…

Easiest test to see if itā€™s the clutch is to switch it off and shift through the gears. Ā If it shifts fine without clutch, then you need to give the clutch some love.Ā

Agree, one of the best things I ever did is to buy a AXS derailleur, I paid ~R9k and its worth every penny.Ā  Shifting is awesome every single time and best part no cables or even wires compared to Di2.
