King Wakanda Posted October 5, 2023 Share Good day I plan to do a 50/200 hour service on my Rockshox Golden RL. I plan to do it myself but I'm missing one crucial thing, suspension oil, specifically the RockShox Suspension Oil, 15 Weight (15wt). It is the one that is listed in the Sram manual book for fork service. I tried looking for it online and it seems to be available only outside SA. Does anyone know where I can buy this suspension oil? I contacted one bike shop and they told me that they don't sell the oil to customers, one other bike shop mentioned that they even use motorbike suspension oil on the bike forks. I'm not sure what any other type of oil will do to my fork, is there anyone who uses other available alternative suspension oil to service their fork? UPDATE: Thanks for all the advice guys, I learned a lot about oils and viscosities and all! Edited October 10, 2023 by King Wakanda Update

I've done the same .... just pop in any old motorcycle shop. Also, and you probably know this already, make sure you use a quality 24mm socket, not a shifting spanner or worn-down socket. That top screw is soft, and not very deep, you can damage, or worse strip the corners in an instant. enjoy . AkwA Posted October 5, 2023 Share I have no problem using the best for my multi thousand rand fork You use less than 20ml per service for most forks, so does it really cost that much... Its less than 50c per ml, so R10 per service Edited October 5, 2023 by AkwA dasilvarsa and King Wakanda 1

Thanks for the reply. I'm really trying to find the original before I switch to alternatives. I wonder where the bike shops themselves get this oil, I mean are they all buying from overseas? Do you use this Motul on a Rockshox Golden RL too? Of it's not giving you problems I guess it can work for me too
