What a shame

Just pondering all this and thought perhaps the rules of engagement between Barloworld and the team were clear i.e. one doper and you're all out ...

In that case the team should have 'guarded' themselves better ......

Just a thought, use it don't .......

This knee jerk reaction is BAD for South African cycling' date=' and Barloworld have possibly doomed the potential of local hopefuls.

Agreed, and others, like Astana, Liquigas, CSC etc have weathered these storms and remained in the sport... The only conclusion we can draw is that it was not an isolated case of doping in the team...

it's got nothing to do with the doping. there are people within the company who are dead against sponsoring cycling, thinking other sports will get them, better coverage. the demise of barloworld the team has been on the cards since last year, depsite the successes. moises just gave them an out...

Holy Roley as an ULTIMATE HUBBER I can see that you are a wanna be journo yourself and have been doing a bit of research yourself - quick on the facebook - just get it right!!   :)

Actually, we are researching an article as to the types of people who hide behind forums and how they react to rant and rave posts.  We knew that this post would get quick response.

Ultimate Hubbers thank you for your opinions, we knew our action would get a reaction.

Enjoy your day :)

.......................... when T Mobile quit they had come under

sustained corporate and public pressure to disassociate the brand from

the sport. now for any commercial enterprise that is seriously

powerful persuasion.... and how long should an organization stick it out having it's name bashed by international media? What is the 'good' exit strategy? When things like this happen I guess you can say that the speed of exit is directly = to the appetite for the association? In which case JB's metion of a cycling fan in Senior BW position getting massively burned as a result of taking the 'company name' into this does make a lot of sence

There are other teams for those with the potential to join though there are greater concerns for SA cyclists Confused (funding). For example, there is no Australian sponsored team yet how many Australians are pro's?
