He would have been much better off leading the way down that descent, but alas, if's and but's won't change anything... He has had a torrid year in terms of bad luck with crashes. BUT, seems this was only a flesh wound. No Fractures. One can be thankful for that. World Championship ITT is 22 Sep, Road Race is 29 Sept. Pretty sure he won't make the start of ITT, but is 25 days enough for a deep gash to the knee to heal up enough to be competitive in the Road Race? Probably not.
