Shamal SRAM Red compatibility

Who can help me in my life or death predicament?!?!?!

 

I am busy riding  2008 Shamal Ultras with a HG freehub body! However I have a SRAM PowerDome Cassette and would desperately love to race with this cassette on the Shamals, however it doesn't fit on the HG! Does anyone know what freehub body would allow me to utilise both, or where I could get any help?

Shamals get a Shimano free wheel body that should take a SRAM cassette.

you are correct Jules. Unfortunately the SRAM cassette doesn't fit what they call the Hyper Glide body that allows for shimano. So I think I have to get an older body, but will the Shamals be compatible with the older body! There doesn't seem to be an issue with the older body and the Fulcrums!

ok might be a dumb suggestion but wouldnt a fulcrum freehub fit on them? They both made by campy after all.

Boeing, the HG on Campy does not work with the Red cluster.  I had the same problem with my Fulcrums!  What you need to do is ask your LBS to get you the "old" Shimano 8, 9, 10 speed and SRAM freehub body, the one made from steel.  It is a bit heavier than the HG, but who cares.....

 

If you really sukkel, phone J&J and ask them to help!
