Very poor customer support from Omnico

It may just be my bad luck but, every time I need to deal with Omnico I get the same feeling I get when dealing with home affairs or the vehicle licensing office, They just don’t seem to care at all.

My latest issue: I am trying to exchange a pair of Darcs glasses under warranty. Omnico has confirmed that they will replace it and asked for a shipping address, to which I replied. 2 weeks later after following up with them, they said, sorry we were too busy the last 2 weeks (to care about your issues, maybe if you were spending some money, we would give you attention) We will ship them tomorrow!

Poor service like this makes me very, very unhappy. I wonder why a company who cares so little still manage to keep their doors open. Is it because we just accept because there is no other place to get the products we want?

Erm easy tiger…..

we just had the fun ride world champs and the #untamed coming through Cape Town which has sucked in resources. Did you confirm with Omnico that they have stock of the glasses ?

next week is a much more relaxed vibe in Cape Town bru so I’m sure they’ll have your pina colada stalkers shades back by the sundowners next Friday 😀

mos not covering for them as I am also awaiting feedback on a warranty issue but nagging them or bikehub won’t make the process flow faster

I had a floor pump that was about 10 years old, but had a lifetime warranty.

I sent them an email to ask if the warranty still covered it and two days later, a replacement part was delivered to a bike shop.

Hi DieselnDust, I am posting on Bikehub because there is not much else I can do, I live in Pretoria so I can’t walk into their shop and see them in person, I have complained over email but there was no answer.

I suspected (incorrectly) that other people might also have problems with their service and if multiple people complain, maybe something can be done about it.

Like I said, this is not my first bad experience with them, I owned a lefty that I only sent to them for service, the last time it came back with a massive bill (more than R9 000) which I had to pay at my local bike shop if I wanted my bike back. After phoning them, they told me that the bill was so high because they had to break lose my damper because I put Loctite on it when I assembled it. After a long debate (over a day or two), they finally reluctantly agreed to drop that cost.

To keep things short, the previous time I sent that fork in for a service, I also had issues, it ended up having to go back. Every time something needs to go to Omnico from Pretoria, its approx 5 days turnaround time.

For me, that’s 3/3 bad experiences

I personally don't let people have 3 chances! Don't make it 4/4

Ok I hear your frustration and understand.

i don’t have any background to your previous experiences so I’ll stick to the Dar’cs warranty. They’re pretty good with warranties if the person that deals with it is in the office. It’s been a busy three weeks in the bike industry so I’m just saying give them till Monday or Tuesday coming to respond. With ctct and epic there would have been a higher than normal warranty applications received for all manner of JRA’s and genuine issues which they have to sift through.👍🏼
