Road events?

I’ve been looking for road events for me and the kiddo to get some tandem mileage in a safe group, but can’t seem to find any on Entry Ninja and the like. 

Are there simply no road events or am I looking in the wrong places? 

Gauteng/NW/Free State/Limpopo/Mp all of interest as long as they’re a 2hr max drive from Fourways. 

If there aren’t any then I’m wondering if all the roadies I see are mostly just doing it for fitness and fun?

Winter is not road racing season.
Road events are better attended than MTB events

Our Events Calendar is free of charge and offers really great exposure to a targeted audience, but for some reason we've struggled to get buy-in from road event organisers. My theory is the gravel events are newer and hungrier. I get the feeling that a lot of road events have a "legacy" and tend to lean on their existing database rather than putting in effort to attract new riders. But that's just my armchair hypothesis
