I will be out of country for 9-10 months and unfortunately means leaving my bike behind.

The plan is to hang it vertically in the garage rafters. Obviously it will have a shower and basic service done before the long sleep. My main concern is the tyres. Leaving sealant inside just seems evil. Or am I overthinking?

Anything else I should take care of?

I left my mtb for 7 months on the wheels. But I got someone to rotate the wheels once a week and had no issues when I got back on her.

I kept my AXS battery with me and kept that charged. On the return plugged it in and had instant connectivity after being dormant for so long

Personally, I don't like hanging things on bearings. Rather hang it from the bars and seat

If you can get someone to rotate the wheels once a week then it should be fine (by rotate, I mean give them a spin like they're in it to win it). If not, I'd take the tyres off and clean the sealant out of the tires. Let it hang from the bar and seat without the tyres on. Don't forget to put a dust cover over the frame, and set the gears to the smallest sprockets to allow the least amount of spring resistance on the derailer/s. On my mtb I left the shock and fork in the open position, although I cant say it won me any free time or not, but it didn't create any issues when I got back to riding the bike. I left my dropper in the up position with no problems. Brakes were just as good as when I left them, so no worries there. My chain had lube on it so that didnt get any rust or corrosion either. I didnt give the bike any special service before I left it, but to be honest it was in a climate controlled room and I didnt have to worry about humidity and massive temperature swings that you get in a garage roof

Clean it, oil the chain, but don't bother servicing it. Rather service it when you get back.

You going to have to replace the sealant after that time any way, and a fork lowers service will do it well after sitting idle to get lubricant in the right areas
