Grand Central Motors have made a Car available to help raise funds.

Shaunh is going to drive the Car on the morning of the 6th pacing and supporting our ride.

Tickets for the draw will be a hundred bucks

The draw will take place on the day  and one lucky Hubber will win a new Mercedes Benz Cabriolet CLK 350 for the remainder of the weekend.

SP: Do you have, or can you get some marshal vests. I have just spoken to Frikkie Ellis (some of the older riders might recognize the name), he used to cycle and is very willing to marshal.

Organizers: How many more marshals would you need? I could round up about 4 or 5 more bikes if need be.

I never offered any money compensation, I just offered free coffee and a free entry into the Merc draw.

PB, the "marshals" vests (the yellow and orange ones) are very elite - they have to be earned etc. the normal TB bibs - i can try find out if there are any available to borrow - my small and medium would be available as i will use my marshals one. but any reflective vest will do - so i actually have a third that i could lend.

Perfect. They don't need the "elite" ones, they just need to be visible as they are traveling at low speeds. The cyclists can also identify them this way. The only problem is that none of my friends are smallLOL. Oh well, see what you can organize and they can see what fits when we are there. I am just waiting to find out how many more marshals they need. Thanx SP

PB, witha  group of 50 cyclists we'll need about 10 marshals in total. we did the santa cyclists with 6 metro and 4 TB, but the TB folk were all experienced marshals. I'll brief allt he marshals before the event to explain how to do it so it runs like clockwork.

it does also help that the hubbers are a well behaved bunch!

PB, I have a few vests and a jacket I will bring along.

Must say, it seems we gonna have a great turn-out and the Metro thing is a bummer but I am sure with slowpoke & PB we can arrange something.

I suggest we meet at the venue at 06h15 to discuss the route and to ensure we cover all aspects of this ride. Must admit, I can't wait!!!

the prob seems to be the local government's "xenophobia" event - they have put pressure on TB to provide marshals for that event and that is what is hurting out (hubber) ride and that is most prolly why metro can't make it. yet no solid info is availabel for said xenophobia event yet!!! typical local govt!

i am 100% confirmed to be there on my bright yellow beastie, but won't be able to wear my marshal's vest so i can only bring 2 vests - 1x medium TB vest and 1x adjustable plain construction-style-with-flashing-lights one.

SP - I fail to understand how 'they' (local govment) can put pressure on an independant organisation like TB to use their resources in whatever way they choose, just wondering like always ..........

BB - the usual politics. all i know is that one of the head marshals has posted that info will be available after a meeting on tuesday and that they may need all available marshals, blah blah.

but i'm confirmed for hubbers (family comes first) and one other is guaranteed
