I have had the Karoo 2 and just upgraded to the Karoo 3. It’s an excellent device. I had the Karoo 2 for about 4 years.

Standouts for me are the screen, navigation, the extensions, easy to use - it’s Android under the skin and the size. Its also not Garmin, so you don’t lose 6 years of your life every time you want to change a setting.

They release new stuff with bug fixes every couple of weeks.

Is it possible to enable auto-pause on the HH?

I currently use a Garmin Edge 530 and use the GarminIQ data field to show an overlay of the speed of incoming traffic picked up by my Varia. Is something like that possible on the HH?

So it has auto pause and it does work with the varia. It doesn’t show the actual speed of traffic or I haven’t looked for that field but it does show the red / yellow / green bar down the side with number of vehicles etc.

With my move from Garmin to Hammerhead Karoo, I now have the problem of not getting Discovery Vitality points. The only way around this that I can think of is to record my rides with both my Garmin (in my back pocket) and my HH, and only have the HH link to Strava.

Any other more elegant solutions?

I do have an Apple Watch.

Now that you mention it, I know that HH can sync to Apple Health, which I think can be linked to Discovery Vitality, correct?

even simpler, use the apple watch to record your ride, as It's accurate enough for the points.  If the battery isn't great, switch the watch screen off.

Yip. I do this and it works fine.
