Good day

I have an 2016 Lefty 2.0 XLR that needs a service. It also has some play, back and fort, on the shaft. No oil leaks. I would also like to upgrade the spring to a dual spring if possible.

It has been send to Omnico, but they don’t work on Lefty 2.0 any more as they are discontinued.

Does someone know who might still have parts or can help me out?

Thanks in advance!

Robbie at RBC, highly recommended

Robbie doesn't have spares for these anylonger. I sent mine to him 2 years ago and no spare, just seal kits for air spring and damper service.

Fore and aft play is likely the lower bushing which should be replaceable since the lower leg is 32mm.

@Izak de Vries is your lower leg anodising scuffed to the bear aluminium? or showing any signs of wearing through? If yes you will need a lower leg assembly too.

PS I also think you mean upgrade to the Dual Piston. Lefty 2.0 XLR has a positive and negative airspring chamber. The airspring upgrade is dual piston design to separate the + and - chambers without it rocking in the airspring sleeve

Thanks for all the info!

Yes I’ll most probably need a new lower leg aswell.

Yes I mean the dual piston! Thanks!

Where can I get contact details for RBC to get a hold of Robbie?

If you don't come right with either Robbie or Droo, I have two options available: a brand new one (never been fitted) and or a used one with some discoloration on the stanchion but looks to be in decent enough condition otherwise.

PS: I am no expert on forks, I am merely stating from a visual standpoint

If Izak does opt for this , Just please remember than the spacing between the clamps is bike size specific as the frame used different head tube lengths in different sizes.

If they're the same model we can swap the upper tube around at service time if it's the wrong size.

OP - sounds like you're dealing with some bearing issues at minimum, so Robert's option will be a good shout. We haven't been able to get spares for those for quite a while now, and even the overseas sites don't have them listed anymore.

Your other option is to fit a standard fork - will cost you up front, but will be a whole lot easier to live with going forward.

No oil leaks probably just means there's nothing in there to leak out anymore...

Ya no Oil leaks = a sticky fork. Even if it has grease inside there should still be oil on the travel oring.

just remind me here, doesn’t the 2.0 for Large and XL have longer damper shafts to accommodate the extended distance between clamps to reach the hydraulic connection at the rebound dial?

Some models just have an offset upper clamp - I don't have a database of the various parts since Cannondale release exactly zero service info on any of their proprietary components.

In general dampers have more travel than they use to accommodate different air spring configurations, but I wouldn't put it past Cannondale to have size specific parts.

Ya let’s see what transpires 👍🏼
