What's your biggest event on SA cycling calendar?

So we've got UCI events coming out of our ears it seems, this year and for the next couple of years. Add the Worlds View Challenge, with its Pro Tour future rating and we're really cooking on gas.

 

So, considering the 'outsider' events, and established SA ones; Giro del Capo, ABSA Cape Epic et al - which are the hubs top race(s) on the SA calendar?

 

Post your top ten, or just list one, be it your favorite event, or the one you think is the best event, whichever way you view it. Is there an 'underground' event which rocks, or do the dig guns have all the votes?

my thinking was that it doesn't have to be the biggest, in number or profile. Maybe the 'major' events leave you cold, but a 'local' event really is the best thing in the calendar.....

Don't do that many events, but best organised and friendliest goes to Sani2C, best "unknown" is the 2-day Baviaanskloof race organised by Fat Tracks in PE.  Hell and Back is also good, and although not everybody's kettle of fish, the Trans Baviaans is "magical".

The Double Centuries not bad, although I wish they would organize it so you don't catch the slowest teams on the narrowest roads.

I am a funrider but for me the Argus..I have to apply for leave a year before the time to make sure I am in South Africa. As you can imagine the build up to the Argus for me is awesome..

Bela Bela Classic (Fast and flat and weekend away)

Meals on Wheels (Platteland hospitality near city, Value for money)

Cara Cara (Platteland hospitality, very friendly people)

Carousel (Fast and flat for good timing)

Lost city (Fast and flat, weekend away)

Jock (Challenging)

Vasbyt (Challenging)

Elephant race in Phalaborwa (Platteland hospitality, challenging due to heat)

Crater cruise (Lekker laid back weekend)
