I did it once a loong time ago. Being a coastal boykie, the high summer temp was harsh and the energade too little. Otherwise, a nice ride.

It's one of my more regular rides...... except it's called Breedts Nek

Thanx ND, and a big thank you to Drew who gave me a lift on that first hill climb that day and helped adjusting the handlebar. Since then I had no more problems with my back so I would have to go back to do the full ride there and back.

Breedts is a real cool ride. We normally do it a couple of time before an AR complete with backpacks.

 

If you are looking for more distance then go to the tar road, turn right and then take the Zuurplaat turnoff. Carry on till you hit the Potch road turn right and then cycle on the tar road for 8k's till you get the Buffelspoort Dam turnoff. Gives you an extra 35 k's.

Remind me to show you my map next time I see you.. I have a 1:75000 of the whole area.. the only way back to Hekpoort without going back over is on tar and it's quite a big loop

From my side I start almost at the same elevation as the Nek.

Last time there met 2 guys comming from Rustenburg training for TB.

Only the 8 km tar from M'gliesburg to the turn off I don't like.

Finally I would really like to take this opportunity to recommend the Ginger beer at Norma's Nook. It's been the rondesvous spot for my wife to pick me up (when bailing out) of late and that stuff is the best!
