Piernas Flacas Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Just saw Mbeki's speech on TV. What's your view?
Rich Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Quite dignified - he stayed away from the controversy but he must be burning inside at the new "leadership". Although I dont think he was great in his second term he probably should have stayed until then end of his term. The judgment everyone relies on to lynch him was just a red herring. It is clear the mob are just trying to protect JZ from the NPA and further prosecution. I hope they are unsuccessful but it is going to take someone with big balls!
Speed Devil Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Now that he is not president , I wonder if he will be travelling as much in the future?
123qwer Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Good riddance but the new leadership is worrying
Skye Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Three things my parents said you never discuss and they are Politics/Religion & Sex
Piernas Flacas Posted September 21, 2008 Author Posted September 21, 2008 Well, I just hope all this will eventually bring mature political processes in the country. Like part of young democracy still.
TNT1 Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Oh, I can't wait till JZ gets in.... If I was in the NEC, I woulda forced Mugabeki to call and early election.TNT12008-09-21 12:35:07
Edition 507 Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Three things my parents said you never discuss and they are Politics/Religion & Sex My parents told me that too, but thank God I did not listen to them!
willy Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Three things my parents said you never discuss and they are Politics/Religion & Sex doesn't leave us much to discuss then
porky Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 I pay little attention to politics so didnt even bother to watch the speech, but I cant see why it all had to be so quick, there is only a couple of months before the next election, so he could just as well have hung around, nobody would be the wiser and it would have prevented all this speculation. In any event theres nothing much we can do about it right now, so why worry?
masood Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 I think this maybe the best thing to ever have happened in South Africa, if the MP's who threatened to quit actually do quit. This would mean a weaker ruling party and room for a stronger opposition. This would also mean that we avoid a Zim situation here. masood2008-09-21 15:18:15
Sammajoor Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 You forgot the "Who is Thabo Mbeki" Poll
