They have a very interesting rule: No GPS devices are allowed to be used that all during the event. So those of you using a Garmin will need to use something else. The reseason why: The land owners do not want poeple coming back to ride the trails again. Whats your views??

What??, i suppose you should put blindfolds over all riders as well so they can't remember where they were riding either. I'm currently putting an adventure race together, and land access is a stinking pie. the guys who ride illegally really do ruin it for the rest of us. but i don't think that's the real reason, doesn't add up for me sorry.

How?Are they going to stop you mid course and scroll through the menus to see if GPS is disabled? Every bloody year they introduce un policable rules.Only thing they have policed is the 2minute rule and that took a few years to get right. theycould use Google Earth to find the bloody twits who went tresspassing acros farmland on thir mtb's instead of limiting choice on tools
Red Zone Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Stupid, will never work, one of the best features in the last epic was the ability to track riders who had GPS on Google Earth. I am sure that there would be some way to save this information.
