I am increasingly concerned about the number of MASSIVE trucks we have to deal with on the Lido route. Last week going up "steps" in the wind I left the road twice because of fear of being taken by 18 wheele trucks. Those guys cannot see us when they are passing, they are so high up and sitting on the RHS of their Cabs they have no Idea where we are.

I am trying to get an idea of what sort of support I would have in arranging for a support vehicle or 2 on a rotational basis, specificaly for that route.

Any like mind cyclists from the south want to support this??

There are already some vehicles I have seen but its not consistant and one never knows which route they are going to go or exactly who they are actualy supporting.

Hallo Warren

Yes it is a dangerous route.  We have done that with training rides and it really is a sh*t experiance when one of those behemoths come past.

Good idea to get a back up vehicle, that way the 18 wheeler has a bigger object to pass than a mere cyclist

I used to ride the route regularly even though I agree its flat and featureless but seldom do it now, far too dangerous, too many fast moving trucks and too narrow a road.
