the sigma Karma and sigma Evo' date=' any good?[/quote']

A bit long in the tooth those models and the Sigma PowerLed is their better option these days.  The Evo really is a underpowered compared to the others discussed here.

Ayup is not so good. They have no clever PWM circuits in their lights so when the battery life starts to fade' date=' the light dims.

The problem is reduced if the light is coupled to a Li-ion battery but it is still nowhere nearas good as a unit with PWM circuitry

I decided against it anyway as I doubt I'd get R5k usage out of it.

Would rather go for a Sigma Karma, might not be the greatest but at under R 2k probably the best bang for the buck.

Do not under estimate how dim the sigma's are in relation to the Iblaast II or others.

Its the difference between driving a VW beetle from the 1950's to a modern mid size luxury sedan using HID Xenon bulbs.

Just contact Johannes and order a Revelation3.  You won't be sorry!

What is the price range here?

Last I heard they were around R4500-00.

I used the Sigma Evo-X before the Revelation3.  The EVO-X on the helmet and the Evo on the handle bar.  I ran 2 batteries.  They were fine for single track night racing.  Revelation is just on a different level alltogether and you only charge it now and again.  The sigma has to be charged before every race.

30W HID for roughly R3500. OK' date=' that was 6 months ago, who knows how much it would be now?

I bought the flood lens option. Single-track in front of you remains lit even if you turn the handlebar 90 degrees. Pisses off the riders in front of you, as they can't see where they are going. Battery lasts about 3 hours. Total weight is about 830g. Very robust, solid, well-made.

GoeieGenaade!!!!Shocked

Ja hy is nogal bright. Vra die tydhouers by die M&B 24hour of hulle al hulle visie terug het!

En nou, skakel ons oor na die Ingilse nuus:

http://reviews.mtbr.com/blog/category/lights-shootout/ , as mentioned by The Crow, makes for good reading. That is where I discovered the Trailtech light. View the back yard comparison photos and judge for yourself.

No....they are better!!

I used mine for the first time on Trans Baviaans this year.  I was smiling all the way.  My partners had Blackburn X5's..  They looked like 2 dim candles in comparison.

Sigma Led Black

3 settings, up too 90 lux, I ride on middle light, no issues! 5-6 hours, 3,5 for max setting, recharge 3hours, system weighs about 200-300 grams.

R2500 about.

Not sure why everyone wants daylight brightness in front of them, cost a small fortune, weights a ton, and doesn't make you go faster one bit!
