Lefty's lights are around 1000 lumens, yours is 170!  That's a lot more light...

The Rev 1 is a bit more power with 10 or 11 hours burn time.

I was considering importing the MTB light by Ay-up from Australia but you're looking at around R5k with import duty and VAT.

30W HID for roughly R3500. OK' date=' that was 6 months ago, who knows how much it would be now?

I bought the flood lens option. Single-track in front of you remains lit even if you turn the handlebar 90 degrees. Pisses off the riders in front of you, as they can't see where they are going. Battery lasts about 3 hours. Total weight is about 830g. Very robust, solid, well-made.

Geez.. I'm honestly quite surprised at how much people pay for lights.

I have a 5 LED Cateye for which I paid R280.  It takes 4 AA batteries and lasts about 60 hours.  I have used it at 3 x 24 hour races and weekly at the Delta Park racing.. it's good enough

Ayup is not so good. They have no clever PWM circuits in their lights so when the battery life starts to fade, the light dims.

The problem is reduced if the light is coupled to a Li-ion battery but it is still nowhere nearas good as a unit with PWM circuitry
