New Stellenbosch bike shop!?

Cornelis

Recommended Posts

As some would know there's a new bike shop ( actually just a Felt dealership) in Stellenbosch.

These boys need to sharpen up there act very quickly if they want to hang around..... there is nothing in that place, except for a couple of Felt bikes, six pairs of shoes and some tights.

Dropped in about three weeks ago to ask if they have a price on XTR's, didn't expect stock, but got a very helpfull give us your number and email and will drop you the prices asap....... well three weeks later...... yawn....

If someone knows the dude the owns the shop, Chris apparently, tell him goodwill is one thing, but competing against two existing shops who gets the job done is gonna take more than goodwill.

The shop in question is called BMT or something, stands for Bike, Marathon, Triathlon.

I peered in the windows on my way back from Jonkershoek and thought the same as Cornelis that it won't last long.  It is in a pretty poor location too, very little passing trade.

  • 4 weeks later...

A friend of mine and excellent bike builder Justin Berry just started working there 3 days per week building and working on bikes. I haven't tried the shop myself, but I know Justin is very good with parts and service.

Hi - I appreciate your comments about us, but I would prefer if your facts were correct!

We are called BMT - for Bike Marathon Triathlon and if you had taken the time to actually walk through the shop, you would have seen a full range of running gear, cycling gear (for men and ladies) as well as a full triathlon section (including wetsuits). Felt bicycles make one of the best TT bikes around and yes, we stock only Felt. But, we have their MTB for the Xterra athletes, TT bikes for the Triathletes and road bikes for all.

I would very much like to meet you, so why dont you pop in and say hi some time. We do not stock the XTR's, but I can give you a price on them.

We are not just a bike shop...... we are a lot more than that!

We are not in competition with Masons - we are different!

We might sell MTB's, but that is not our only aim.

As mentioned, we are a triathlon shop of which we are the ONLY one in Stellenbosch.

Cornelis..... Triathlon is swimming, cycling and running, so a Triathlon shop stocks the equipment needed for all three disciplines!

Xterra is the off road version of traithlon and done on MTB's, but similar equipment as far as wetsuits and TRI gear is needed.

We stock it all

Maybe you should come in and learn!
