Iv been asked by my local gym to instruct some spinning classes. Just want to find out what sessions do you like at a spinning class? Any suggestions or good spinning sessions would be appreciated.

Also if im to accept the offer how much benifit will spinning give to me-dont want to 'take away' from my personal training.

Thanks

Take the trouble to prepare your music. Don't be lazy and put in one crap doof doof CD and leave it on for the duration of the class. Judge your audience. If you are a 60kg undernourished maniac living on creatine, don't expect your class to stay with you on a 10 miunute climb in resitance 9! Breathe. Don't tell your class to smile, because they are dying..

Looking at the questions you are asking, it implies you have very little if any spinning experience.  Which local gym is this?  I need to make a mental note to NEVER go there, considering how they screen their spinning instructors.

Music is 90% of the class.

If you have a class where 70% of your spinners are ladies, don't stand/climb too much.

Always make the class enjoyable.  Those guys dragged their lazy butts out of bed to go to gym.  They don't want a grumpy guy that does not know what cycling is.......

As for yourself.

The spinning helps lots for legspeed and getting the lactic out of the legs after a weekends racing......

It does not do a lot for endurance / road fitness though.

TITS boet.....TITS........

What I like about spinning:

Good music, opputinity to do high cadence work and also power / interval type exercises.

What  I hate in spinning classes:

Instructors who think you should be doing, jumps and all other funny aerobics on spinning bike.  I ignore them like a traffic cop the moment they start doing that.
