How do you tell if its steel? I have an ancient Gios' date=' blue with chromed lugs and a pinned head tube badge. Not sure if its steel, but it sure is heavy. I'm looking for a 7 speed cluster for it (See 7 speed cluster thread).[/quote']

If it still has it's original paint job then there should be a sticker on the seat tube saying if it is Reynolds or Coumbus tubing. If it is ancient enough then it will say "chromoly"

Cool, thanks. Still has its original paintjob. I'll check it out tonight.

"Pee-jou papnat" I mean Peugeot Rapport. 18 year old classic.

12 kg of steel. Trainer and racer.

Components, eish angaaz. Shimano deraileur with 6 speed casette, Rigida wheelset. The rest, hey, who knows?

Recently upgraded to Jalco DRX4000 wheels with 8 speed cluster, still using same chainrings and deraileurs.

Got a Tommasini, 1990 or thereabouts. Has a '94 9 speed DA. The one just before they introduced the "Flight Deck" Has a 54 - 42 Chain ring which is a bit big but is great for training.

Original yellow, mint condition with the finest slender forks and stays. Looks too thin to hold one up

ITS a 1987 Battaglin , which is in pieces now, wanted to do a piant job like Ronelle did on her sons bike , but alas its quite pricey, so will have to live with original paint work, when I rebuild. Dont have those forks anymore but some carbon forks.
