Cyclewizz Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Hey Kid I'm the Eskom/Sasol kit guy ridding the other Peejou farmgate(Chrome and silver)_. Did Met up with you and Slave about 2-3 weeks back. Still have to join you guys for a proper ride. Normally do slow shrt loop group on Saturdays and anything goes on Sundays. Another farm gate, can't be.Why do the farm gate riders like the slow short loop ? We haven't done a ride for awhile, the last one was down to Heidelberg but when we got there Slavey had to pomp his wheel while we all stood around talking and on the way back Nuwbie (but now he's a Trubie) got us to do 30sec sprints and Ox & Slavey say they took strain but I doubt that. We've had some interest from other hubbers but I think they get scared with all our technical k@k praat and they run away never to be seen again (like Narc) or they make some excuse about working (like Racman).I think we should have a 'team' meeting this weekend and withdraw some of the visas we've given to the souff.

Anyway, I had the crappest ride of the year this morning. I barely made it up Voortrekker, let alone the rest of the way.Just one of those days (Hey Slave). Tmrw will be better I hope. Owl - about the weekend - my plans are long on both days, but will see how it goes this week. Need to do 8 hrs, so if can avoid sunday, I will, otherwise be there both days. You?

Hey Tyx, dude, Nov 2008 was my first introduction to the social bunch. Then I met a whole new bunch of crazies, (Sorry Trubes, you may excuse yourself from this general discription) and the Birdman told me I had to fly. His idea is that the slow bunch is kind of like the taxiway to the runway and you can never fly if you don't go fast enough. Anyway, Birdbrain told me if I wanted to fly, I had to get out there with the fast okes and "extend yourself, otherwise you will never improve." (But I did get some revenge on him inmy last PM (Hahaharahatrahara) So they drop me, but I just keep trying. One day when I grow up, I'm going to fly, just like the bird. an eagle. Tyx, you need to do the same thing. It's just a confidence thing. The slow group is great for recovery rides (which is a term the kid seems unable to comprehend.) but to get fit and strong, you have to run hard. I'm still trying to graduate as the kid puts it and every now and then I still squat instead of cocking my leg, but you have to try it to know. Try it out with me this weekend, at least when I get dropped, I'll have someone else to ride with. And they are not really all that fast. Dude, if I can hang with them, anyone can.

Slave Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 Kid, that's where you're wrong. I have always been a "sooner". I'd "sooner" kiss and make up than fight. And Trubes is like a large fella. So best not to tatta ma chence or push the boudaries. Some things kid, are best left alone. You irritate Trubie at your peril. Next time he drives that Berg bus, he may hurt us more than he did last time. (That's what he did to me and why I think you should leave well enough alone.Beside' I'm whispering this stuff so he can't hear us. Best leave it at that and don't go making waves. Then run and hide behind me. You wanna see me go hard up the steps, I'll annoy the big fella and then ride like hell. I'm still not fully recoverd from all my efforts so I'm kinda resting. (That's my excuse for getting dropped and I'm sticking to it.) At the moment, I'm trying to get my energy levels back up so I can ride hard again. That's why I'm only doing short loops.

spaso9 Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 hi all been a while again.was down in durban again this past long week end for a training camp for waterpolo. 18 hrs training in3 days, man am i buggered!! had to go for a full ody massage yesterday to get the stiffness out. leave for morroco next week end.... hoping to ride this week end in sat, got work but can maybe go in late. prob just the short loop with slow bunch t get back into it a bit... gotta buy some winter riding gear tho, its getting chucking filly!!!
Slave Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 Hey dude,it's all good, we have some fun on this thread. It's not all serious stuff. I'm actually looking at retiring the old farm gate anyway. So when I get another bike, I may just have a bit left for a pair of hang ten beach thongs to ride in.

Trubie Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Slave is a disciple of the old school, he believes this new technology will harm his chances of becoming a World Class rider (read South of Jhb steps champion).He feels so comfortable with his bike and equipment, that not even the fiercest crim south of jo'ies will be able to seperate the two. Whisper - I did see him enquire about a bike on the hub, but just make sure he doesnt know, we know. So maybe he is resting because he's waiting a new bike? In the meantime, he rides up a big storm on the Pjou, so no prob there. He even kicks the fast bunch's ass up the steps every now and then.
