Time to change my route. For sure. Yes Indigo Kid, it will soon be time for new tires.

 

Years ago, I used to rid a motor cycle. Got good fuel consumption and what I saved on petrol, I used to spend in tires. Perhaps a lot more on tires than fuel saved.

 

I'm beginning to wonder of the same can be said of commuting by cycle. Save petrol and spend it on tires, chains, chocolate, food, clothing to keep one alive in the cold.

 

Something Joe Slow mentioned a while back about the time it takes. It still takes me 1hr 35 minutes to the bank in the AM. Getting home only takes 1 hr 17. Timed the way home yesterday and the way to work this AM.

 

Then I got to thinking, commuting is totally different from training. It's the same in the sence that one is riding, but it ends there. Training rides tend to follow routes with less traffic signs like stop streets and traffic lights. Training, I tend to ride much harder.

 

Commuting, takes me right through the centre of JHB and I stop at all the traffic lights, stop streets and all that rot. Th traffic also slows one down quite a bit and I cannot get to go full tilt down a hill as I would during training. (More traffic and higher risk)

 

So the dynamics of commuting ant training are comletely different. Also riding in the dark is kinda scary. I tend to go a bit slower until I can see what's what.

An on elast thought on the Agteros thing. If I abreviate it to AO, who knows what people will think and come up with. Same as if I just type A. A could be for apple, posterior or almost anything. So I think Agteros, best be happy with Oxman. At least I can type that fairly quickly wthout it menaing something completely different.
