No Andy, I managed to stay bone dry. The ride was good thanks. I rode a bar stool all afternoon. Had a whole 4 beers with my boet and was Douglas Bader for a while. It seems that domestic strife is contagious and he seems to have caught the virus now. :( So he was buying and I was listening.

I did have a very decent ride into the office this morning though. New record time. And the funny thing was I didn't feel like I pushed it until the eyes popped. There was very little traffic which was an absolute pleasure.

And before riding the bar stool, I took a long drive with a charming lady. All the way to the Vaal dam and back. :D

How was all that rain though, Sheeesh, it was something. Perhaps symbolic of my past now washed away and the sun shining with new brightness today.

Life is good again.

That is good! So now you onto Vit Be?

Aaaaaah. The same one you took to the 24 hour?

It was hectic. All Kid's fault because he didn't want us training while he was on holiday burning himself on the beach! :D

You sure he was frying on the beach? Knowing him it most probably was only a cover for a secret training camp

I wish I had gone on a secret training camp.

Couldn't fry on the beach as the weather was wet, very wet. Did manage to get 1 day of great weather.

Suffered today on my 100km ride.

Also think the extra weight took its effect on the air in my tyres

Trubie, thanks for riding with me, sorry I held you up & you missed a great chance of riding with Robbie Hunter.

@ Big S

Nice of you to greet this morning

Hope you had a good ride.

Cool seeing you out man! Did you see the low level bridge this morning? Here is a pic, can anyone believe that we rode over there on our 'skinny' bikes at Race For Victory  - No go even on a fat tyre bike today

Kid - no sweat. He will be there again, then he can ride with me :)

Hard hard weekend. Blikkies the rain this week really put a damper on the training and my body felt it yesterday. Ok maybe the 2 x squash games this week (after many years) also had a part to play.

3:34 sat, 2:56, sun.......... and this week the real hard sessions for Argus only starts.

Oi - gonna be a suffer fest!

Hectic plenty water out south, saw that bridge and the Klipriver almost 3 times its normal size!

What he also told me is that he wasn't swimming much because it was raining! Kid, when you swim you get wet, the rain also makes you wet! So swim in the frigging rain man!!!

And the swimming he did do was the start of his swimming training for Ironman! ;)

Welcome back Kid!!!!! Hope you had a fantastic holiday!

The extra weight was all the water you absorbed from the rain! And you meant to actually pump air into your tyres before riding. Just a tip! Hehehehe

So its raining in Alberton again.

Luckily we got our ride in this morning.

Heard there was a major crash on the short loop this morning. Hope those that fell are ok & recover quickly.

Today I suffered again on the torture machine, felt harder than yesterday but the computer said it was slightly easier.

What a welcome back weekend, 190km.

The "pile up" was hectic this morning. For the second day in a row the whole bunch went "short"

a mix of pros and holiday riders was not going to be a good mix. about a km from the split the centre of the bunch went down !

The people on the tandem went down hard and the one lady did not look good at all.

It started raining at the end of the ride so I take it was not a good day in the saddle for some.

Keep safe people and enjoy your riding this festive season.

Hope the injured get better soon.

Saw one of the bikes coming in to CycleHub this morning (red 'Saeco' Cannondale) didn't look good at all. Hope they all recover quick!

Eish, accidents are so not cool. Looks like it was fortuitous for me not to have been there. I might have been among that lot.

I had a pretty bad weekend emotionally. Was a wreck on Saturday and had a serious bout of insomnia on Sat night. So with only 2 hours of sleep, the grey skies and everything else, I decided that rest was also training. Still losing weight and I resemble the stick man more and more every day. :(

Andy, no, the company on Thursday was not the same lady as the 24 hour. This was someone else.

So back to the commuting thing for the rrest of the week and next week, rest. Need to get some fuel back in the tank so I'm thinking that maybe a break for a week will sort out many things.

So I just got a bottle of Vit S for Christmas from one of my contacts. Christmas coffee is on the agenda for Christmas day. Coffee with Bells. Yeeeeeeehaaaaa.

Andy, less weight means less to drag around and less wind resitance, but a body can only be so skinny. Last time I weighed this much little was 30 years ago. Thing is then I had toned muscles. (All of them). Now I look like a bag of bones in a sack that is too big. Ideally, I want to be around 88 to 90 kg. And the legs look like frikking toothpicks. Still some reasonable definition in the thighs but the rest looks aweful. Like I need to get on an ironing board.

Hey MS. Was that you I saw with WW on Saturday?
