Well Ben has done Epic. So he has a good enough excuse. Mine..... Well it could just be rude. :P

(You're still a mountain goat.)

Is an option but there have been some jackings along that Rand Water road as well. If I recall a few MTB'ers have had their equipment shopped at knife point. Would rather go the long way around as a safer option.

have there been any incidents on Rand Water for roadies?

For sure, rode it yesterday morning! Specific reason for the question Bob?

Nah, just wondered if any of the old routes had changed, and probably not much would be the answer? Same as here and on the west rand, same routes the boys rode 20 or 30 years or more ago.

The routes haven't changed much, here and there an 'avoid this spot' cause of suspicious behaviour/bike jacking but that's pretty much it .... in fact I bet if you came to one of the xumbugs morning rides you would recognise some of the 'oldies' around :D

Yep, roads haven't changed much at all. Just a sh1tload more potholes than there used to be. I guess it must be a legacy of the deep dark days of the past.

Funny thing happened to me the other evening. Went to the local Pill Pushers (Pharmacist)) to get some hi power mulitvites. So, I am standing there being charming and friendly (In my Hi-Viz Jacket and "second skin" thermal Tights (Hey, it's been cold lately and my gloves) and the pill peddlar behind the counter looks at me and asks: "Do you cycle?"

For about three nanoseconds, I was too dumbstruck to respond and then I slowly smile at her and reply "Me? Cycle? Hell no. I just dress like this because I love the kit."

So she looks at me and says "Somehow, I knew you were going to say that."
