I still dont get why we sprint for the stop though? Can anyone explain this? I see everyone goes bonkers for it!

We (Germiston Wheelers) usually stop on the bridge to re-group and wait for the "slower" riders to catch up. At least that way the faster guys have the opportunity to also have some fun.

How and when it all started - long before I started riding. Why?... ??

So Sorry Nuwbs.

You may join in with pleasure. Been so busy with e-mails, SMS  and the forum, I forget who I am.

I plead insanity dude. Ignore you, NEVER. Stop streets, yes, but you my mate, never. (So does that mean I can use those arm warmer things for torrow or do I need to "kruip nog so bietjie?)

Nance, what's maybe. Cool ride, nothing strenuous. I have a feeling Nuwbs is going to klap me for forgetting that he already said yes to the ride and I'm goin to need some recovery time on Monday.

Suspect Kid will be down with his "cold" for a few days. Take a rest kid, I need to get on with some more secret training because you somehow got faster 'n me.

Nuwbs, dude, when I saw that cough - cough stuff of yours I had a brief suspicion that you were going to bail on the ride tomorrow. Almost had a coronary.

GO, this wing clipping, you going back to the south coast, or is there some top secret reason you cna't / wont ride tomorrow.

It started in the days of Mcintosh,Van Heerden, Impey and Engelbrecht, or there about.

Its an ego thing, nothing more , nothing less.

If you stop, you are normally so bushed you cannot go on without a rest.

If you can continue without stopping, you did not sprint.smiley2.gifsmiley2.gif

First one at the stop, gets bragging rights - same with going up the steps.

This competition thing makes me sicksmiley11.gifsmiley11.gif

Ok...so ShawnA is the rather lean looking Euro Pro dude that was riding the Trek! Ok' date='got it! Nice to meet you dude! I was not aware that that was Engela Conradie! Sorry Engela...you just looked different..??

Nice sprint there Shawn A...I still dont get why we sprint for the stop though? Can anyone explain this? I see everyone goes bonkers for it!

Yes, I have had my wings clipped in a manner of speaking...so I wont be riding tomorrow. Sorry guys...but dress warm hey!!

Er.GO for an accomplished cyclist, you really can be obtuse sometimes.

Really, it's called "interval training" for goodness sake.

Kid, psssst, you want some sweets. (Oh bugger, wrong forum again.)

I need that invisible rope of your again. Only way I'll get to the top of the steps anywhere close to Nuwbs.

There has to be something in the "Air" aound that end of the world. We get this urge to race to the stop and then to race up the steps.

Narco, are we gonna race the steps tomorrow? You still have to go through your "el groupo initiation".

not sure Kid' date=' all depends how many times Slave and I get the opportunity to race up the steps

I still haven't seen you two guys race up the steps, I'll let you two practise then next weekend we can do the long loop with the fast bunch and then yous two can race up the steps or pull the bunch up the steps.

Yeah right.

What do you have in your Jungle Oats in the morning Nuwbs? It must be a very strong hallucinogenic. (Spelling?)

Must be all that LSD and speed we do on our rides.

Its because its no race really. Slave just kicks and we all eat dust.smiley10.gifsmiley10.gif

Are you in a good mood that you are being so modest or does S2L owe you money ?

S2L has improved since the beginning of the year but I don't think he would be able to average 35km/h over 100km yet, you done that on Sunday without braking a sweat and you are only a Nuwbie imagine the speed you'll do when you a pro (6 months time).

Er, guys...I'm never the first to the stop sign! I just like the "wind up" that comes for the last 6km! You'd swear we were prepping for a big bunch finish in Europe! Besides, as a track sprinter, I can only sprint when turning left!!! I'm flumoxxed by straight roads!!

You guys are gonna freeze your n**s off tomorrow!!

Kid , you flatter the Slave and me because you know you're not there tomorrow.

I will always be a pro(not only in six months - actually are already), a pro-beer.

Translated that is to keep on trying - Ek sal probeer om Slave weg te ry. I will try to drive Slave away after the ride tmrw.

And please get yr facts right - it was 114.37 k'ssmiley2.gif (which of course makes it even more impressive!! hint hint)
