I am riding a Fizik Arione on my road bike and really love this saddle. On my MTB I have a Gobi and must admit I am not that impressed. I have been riding it for a year so it is not new.

Which sadlle would you recommend?

I am using a Selle Italia Can Am for over 5 years without having to replace it yet. A creak or two when the going gets tough sometimes, but thats all. Very nice and comfortable in the rough.

Love My Gobi Thumbs%20Up(But everybody differ) Borrow your road bike?s saddle and give it a run on the MTB ,for one day racing the Arione should be fine.

i race with a selle italia flite on my road bike and now my mountain bike as well it really all depends on you in the end i know a lot of people that use ariones on both bikes so give it a try (unless it is the one with the carbon rails)

and if you want to get rid of the gobi i might have a buyer for you as well!!!

I was always under the impression that the Arione was the road bike equivalent of the Gobi.

Have had my Gobi since Sani2C and really enjoy it. Have now transferred it over to the Singlespeed and put the Selle Italia SLR onto the MTB, will see how that goes.

The gobi is by far the most comfortable saddle. Also ride Arione on my Road Bike and believe in riding  with same saddles on both bikes. After day 5 in the epic tho i took my aArione off and put the Gobi on again. Felt like sitting in my loung chair.

Depends on person. The brought out a new Fizik now that is like the Arione but the MTB version. That looks it will do the Job. Its called the tundra.

Flat vs shaped saddle will also influence your position!
