Same here' date=' well no PT but I have training wheels (heavy) and racing wheels (lighter) and I think it makes a difference?[/quote'] Yup, wheels make the ride, i use Alex rims(DA28) with my power tap and they are really stiff but they feel a little dead compared to the American Classic 420's that i race with...

The DA28's are my racing wheels! Man sucks to have *** race wheels. Can you even imagine how *** my training wheels are?

Got to agree with the guys about the wheels. I train on an old set of Mavic Kysrium Sl with an Ultegra casette and race with HED Alps with a Dura Ace casette. Race set up feels way quicker and more responsive and feels like you have more power.

The heavier wheels on the same bike makes sense. Same setup same prevention of upcoming problems.

The old rule of NEVER EVER make any changes to your diet, supplements, training or bike before any big event is utterly important!!!!! We  as seasoned cyclists found that out on the HARD way!!!!!!!!

I've heard one of the pros training for Ironman put thicker tyres on his bike' date=' more resistance. Think its Clive Chowles...[/quote']

Yeah my training wheels have heavier 25c's on as well, I'd put 28's in but don't have the frame clearance.

The heavy tires are also less prone to puncture, so you can train without worries...............

If you want more resistance, just stay in the 53-11 gearing for 20min then 53-15 for 20min then 53-11 again. Keep your upper body still, stay seated and stick to the yellow line. Great core training!
