I see on the flyer that I got at the Burger for the 99'er that if you decide to ride a 20km route you will pay R90,00 early entry and R130,00 late entry.

121km---R160

77km-----R100

39km-----R90

Seems that money has become the only reason some races are still being held. These people should................................

this event is to raise funds for the school but it seems as if they are pricing themselves out of the market. i did the 77k this year on a tandem with my son, they won't be seeing me next year.

My last three 99 ers:

1.  Heatwave + block headwind:  abandoned just outside Malmesbury (the first and only time I have ever abandoned a ride)

2.  Freaking rained cats and dogs when we started, then rode the entire boring 120 k's cold and damp.

3.  Last year:  howling gale out on the route (I recall sitting in a bunch, hiding out of the wind and doing about 14 km/h)

Probably my least favourite ride by a long shot.  At that price....Dead forget it.

You guys are very funny LOLLOL

I asked the same question about the pantyliners in the mens goodie bags, and the response was that it is actually very usefull to stick on a wound (anti bacterial and what have you)........ Oooh I can only imagine LOLLOL

As for the 99er - also not sure if I would do it again, vowed this year after inhaling tons of veldfire smoke that I would not punish myself like that again....but mind you ek s? dit baie Wink

Don't complain. The Jailbreak Triathlon is R565.00 entry with zero road closure.

They can stick that where the sun don't shine.

Fully agree.  These longer tri's are getting way too pricey.
