Rockshox Reba Race

Ive got an '07 Reba race on a bike i bought off the hub.

 

I'm new to the whole air fork thing.

 

This is a very good fork from all i've heard??

 

How often does it need to be serviced?

 

Is it OK to work out the right air preasrue to use? by that i mean can i lower and raise the preasure on a regular basis without cockin the fork up?

I'm no expert but I believe you can adjust the air pressure as often as you want.

 

Download the owner and service manual. I think it indicates what the service intervals are and what to look for. Suppose it depends on how you ride.

Too start off with, tie a string tightly around one of the stanctions and let it sit on the rubber on the lower leg. Now get on the bike and see how much it sags. It should go down about 20-30%. Unfortuanely I do not know abou tthe negative air input on the Rock Shox. You do know there is a valve undeneath the left leg aswell?

is there also one on the bottom left ?

 

what pressures do you set these at for a person who is 94 kg's?

On all the Reba's I have seen there is a table (on the left stanchion I think) giving a guideline for pressure depending on weight.

 

Most places I have read said pump the positive (top) 10psi more than the negative (bottom). Those are the only 2 air pressure places

 

At the bottom of the other leg there is a funky coloured knob you can turn to adjust rebound.

Not that I can see ...... my Tora is pretty plain Jane sah! No air just preload ..... ways a ton but great on my training bike.

 

Is the Tora you speak off 'dual-air'?

I have a Reba What a shock, awesome. I weigh 100 kays. Pump both the negative and positive valves to 160psi, and turn the rebound valve (Red valve under Right chamber) towards the rabit, as far as it will go. Usually you would have about a 25psi differance between positive and negative pressure but if you weigh more than 85 you pump both to the max.

on the reba there is a valve on the top right' date=' and top bottom correct?

SORRY OKES! ITS 150psi

it is the tora 318 so it is an air shock dont know if it is dual air or not

No, Tora's are 'Solo Air'

It is a very nice shock with some great features. It is robust and serviceable and very light considering all the goodies inside. All service parts are available, albeit at a price. A full service with all the kits cost about R850-00.

 

The dual-air spring works well and is silky smooth.
The basic shock can be upgraded later on for a remote lock-out.

 

As BB said, experiment with the two air pressures by starting from a suggestion table.
