Decisions,  Decisions.....

So I have come to point where a significant upgrade is needed (not wanted...needed, you know the feeling Wink)

The problem is that there are sooo many great bikes around (XC/Trail/Marathon) and I missed out on the test day at the end of last year, so I hope all the wise Hubbers can give me a little guidance.

In the end this is a personal choice based on fit and feel, riding style etc.. but I'll trust the collective might help (or confuse me...hmmmm)

I have narrowed it down to a few and would appreciate any other input before I go try arrange test rides all over the place.

THE CONTENDERS: In no particular order - Scott Spark 30, Giant Anthem X1, Spez Stumpy Expert (29er?), Yeti ASR Enduro

Thanking you in advance Clap

What kind of riding are you doing mostly?

XC/Trail/Marathon - Doing Sani in Feb and not sure my hardtail's gonna be comfy for 3 days.

I am a Specialized fan - big time! I do think that the stumpy is OK - but the guys I ride with classify it as a trick bike! smiley2.gif

Personally I still think the Epic is the nicest in the range - if you are looking at the Stumpy - also see if you cannot get your hands on the Epic rather.

I'm a big Spez fan as well, have had awesomely good results with my Marathon Epic Carbon over the last year. However, would not go for a stumpy for the type of riding you're suggesting; Spark is very good value for money and is a great platform for upgrading...I would go with the Spark. Everyone I know who has one loves it.

I am sure your budget will also be a factor. I think the Anthem X1 will be the best value.... but if you can swing it, go for the Yeti!!! What a bike....and you can build it up just the way you want, or can afford :)

Good luck.

Your Scott will be the best allrounder
